Home Brewing ingredients include malted barley which is a starch source for fermenting into alcohol. A brewers yeast used for fermenting. Hops for flavouring and reducing the sweetness of the malt. Also maize and rice can be used as starch with additional sugar sweetening for some malted barleys. The main ingredient of beer is water but simply add the ingredients to produce beer. As the main ingredient, hard and soft water can be better for certain types of beers. Pilsen malt is best making pale lager with soft water and stout such as Guinness is best made in hard water areas.
