The Le Creuset BBQ Cast Iron Square Grill Basket is 30cm wide. It features handles to help you easily move the basket off of the heat (however the handles will be hot, so always use heat protectant gloves). The basket has perforations that are small enough to stop small items from falling through, but allow for heat to reach the food, which results in a chargrilled flavour.
The cast-iron construct of the BBQ Grill Basket retains the heat for even cooking and browning. The heat retention properties are also a bonus when hosting, as it means that your delicious creations will stay warmer at the table for longer.
The aim of the Le Creuset Cast Iron BBQ Basket is to age gracefully. The enamel interior develops a natural patina that will behave like a non-stick surface. Its finish also has great food release properties with less seasoning required. When cleaning, use only water so that the patina can develop.
Never use the Le Creuset BBQ Square Grill Basket in the microwave, as it is made of metal and it will cause damage to the microwave and its electrical wiring. To reduce the risk of personal injury and product damage, flames must be confined to the base area and never extend up around the sidewalls of the product. Flames above the sidewalls may result in burns to persons near the flame and damage to items that are near the flame.
For Charcoal or wood-fired, outdoor barbecue or grill use, always put the Le Creuset 30cm Barbecue Square Grill Basket on a rack and never in direct contact with the embers. You must leave a minimum distance of 5cm, or 2 inches, between the rack and the embers.
Whilst the Square Grill Cast Iron Basket was originally intended to be used on the BBQ, it can also be used in the oven, on a gas hob, in a wood-fired oven, and in a pizza oven.
