Dents Gloves

Dents UK gloves use all sorts of leather, sourced from South America all the way to Africa. The finest leather gloves, produced by Dents, with only the best leather including peccary, hairsheep, deerskin and sheepskin & slink lamb. Each have their own unique properties; peccary is naturally smooth and soft and for that it is extremely rare and made from wild hog's hide in South America. Hairsheep leather is found mainly in Ethiopia and Nigeria, it has excellent natural elasticity and superior strength compared to most leathers. The sheep leather is sourced from hair instead of wool, hence the name. Deerskin, like hairsheep, has natural elasticity and high durability but has a grainy texture providing a completely different appearance. Sheepskin is a great material for winter gloves where you need some extra warmth. The leather is used with its natural wool as a liner which as usually fitted slightly looser than other glove styles. Slink lamb is extremely similar to sheepskin; just lighter and softer. Sheepskin and slink lamb are only used in the finest quality luxury gloves from Dents UK due to their rarity and expense.

Leather Gloves History at Dents

Dents UK is a company with almost 240 years’ experience in the leather crafting field. They have made some amazing gloves, for various events, including driving gloves, shooting gloves and more. They have also gained a huge reputation for Hollywood accessories (Daniel Craig's leather gloves were used in the Bond film, Skyfall) and for the luxury coronation clothing (King George VI's glove and Queen Elizabeth II's glove). Dents can be tracked all the way back to 1777 where John Dent established his company in Worcester, England. Dent's sons, John and William then expanded the business in 1833 with 133 leather craftsmen spread across their two factory locations in Worcester and London. The original methods of cutting, stitching and working the leather are still in use today and still work as well as they ever have.

Dents UK has handmade the world’s finest Dents gloves since 1777. Today, the best traditions of this time-honored craft are combined with contemporary design and luxury leather in stylish accessories including driving gloves, handbags, wallets, and belts. We are delighted to assist with any enquiries you may have about the leather gloves for women and the Dents mens gloves as well as any accessories.
