Britains is one of the most popular and well known makers of farm toys on the market. Their fantastic range includes tractors, trailers, farm machinery, animals and farm accessories. These wonderful farm toys are made in the popular 1:32 scale and are great for playing with but equally as popular amongst collectors. The Britains range features vehicles and implements from major agricultural brands such as JCB, Land Rover, Massey Ferguson, New Holland and John Deere. Having been on the market since 1921 Britians die-cast models have a well earned reputation for quality and authenticity.

A history of the brand

This brand is derived from a company originally founded by British toy manufacturer Williams Britain Jr. in 1893. He was a clever man who revolutionised the production of toy soldiers by creating a process to hollow cast items in lead. It was such a popular and cost effective way of producing these children's toys that it became the industry standard for many years after.

Their first range of farm models was produced in 1921 and they have continued to produce them ever since. However, throughout the twentieth century the company was combined with many other operations and soon spread its reach into die cast toy vehicles, plastic figurines and collectibles. Nowadays the company still hand sculpts each figurine by hand before it is duplicated, to ensure that each design is of the same high quality as they were over one hundred years ago.
